A change is gonna come

This continues a series of communications about construction and parking on campus. We want everyone to stay alert and informed about what’s happening—and when—and how to stay safe.

Construction activities in preparation for the new Administration building will necessitate changes to parking for faculty and staff beginning Dec. 20, and begin the transition for the permanent closure of Bellaire Drive North from Rogers Avenue to Stadium Drive.

Tom Brown/Pete Wright Visitors Parking Lot

  • Beginning Dec. 20, the west entrance to the parking lot temporarily will become two-way, serving as both entry and exit. This adjustment will allow work on the permanent two-way access to begin at the east entrance near Betsy and Steve Palko Hall.

Lot 9 (west side of Wabash Avenue), Human Resources and Music parking lots, and the lot south of Betsy and Steve Palko Hall

  • Permanent closure to a large portion of Lot 9 begins Jan. 2, in conjunction with parking lots for HR, Music and the small lot south of Palko Hall.
  • Alternative parking is available in Lots 3, 4 and 7.
  • Faculty and staff with reserved parking in these areas may park in the Frog Alley Parking Garage. Enter from W. Cantey Street and use your ID card to access the designated parking area.
  • The Blue shuttle provides convenient transportation to the core of campus, with stops at Lot 3, Frog Alley Parking Garage, north of Sherley Hall, north of Ed Landreth Auditorium, at the entrance to Sadler Hall on University Drive, south of Betsy and Steve Palko Hall on Bellaire Drive West, the corner of Bellaire Drive North and Stadium Drive, and at the Brown-Lupton University Union.
  • Construction fencing will be installed around both the Human Resources and Music buildings during the holiday break. Pre-demolition activities, including environmental assessment, utility terminations and abatement, for these two buildings will begin in mid-January when the two relocate to 2701 W. Berry Street.

Wabash Avenue

  • Wabash Avenue will be closed permanently in early February as this road will become the entrance to the new Administration building. Faculty and staff who park in the reserved lot on Wabash Avenue will move to the Frog Alley Parking Garage.

Construction updates will continue in TCU This Week. You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with additional resources at your disposal, including emails from TCU Police, location and directional signage posted at affected lots, and the new and improved campus map.
