Recently announced awards:

Theatre’s Harry Parker received from Arts Council of Fort Worth, “Trinity Shakespear Festival at TCU 2018” for the period of 1/1/2018-9/28/2018 in the amount of $10, 427.52.

Psychology’s Sarah Hill received from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology “Examining the Impact of Childhood Environmental unpredictability on Ghrelin Dysregulation (2017 Heritage Dissertation Award for Randi Leyva),” for the period of 1/2/2018-1/1/2019 in the amount of $1,000.


Anthony Anzalone’s National Strength and Conditioning Association Foundation Masters Research Grant titled, “The relationship between peripheral biomarkers and clinical measures in youth and young-adult athletes following a sports-related concussion,” will receive full funding of $7,416. The National Strength and Conditioning Association will recognize Anzalone at its annual meeting in July. This work represents Anzalone’s thesis and the ongoing research of the Sports Concussion Research Group, a collaborative between the Kinesiology Department, TCU Athletics, Ben Hogan Sports Medicine, Ben Hogan Concussion Center and soon to be added John Peter Smith Hospital.


Jenny Korstian (M.S. Biology 2012), Amanda Hale (Associate Professor, Biology), Tory Bennett (Assistant Professor, Environmental Science), and Dean Williams (Associate Professor, Biology) recently published a paper:

Korstian , Hale, Bennett, and Williams. 2016. Using DNA barcoding to improve bat carcass identification at wind farms in the United States. Conservation Genetics Resources 8:27-34.

This work was also featured in the International Barcode of Life’s Barcode Bulletin “Barcoding’s Role in Bat Fatality Monitoring at Wind Farms”, 2016, Barcode Bulletin 7:2-3.
