Actuarial Science
Actuaries don’t just see the big picture — they help predict it.

Our actuarial science program, offered as a major and a minor, is designed to prepare students for careers in insurance, risk analysis, pension management, financial planning and other related areas. Students take three semesters of calculus and learn the material for one official exam of the Society of Actuaries — either Exam P or Exam FM.

What Sets Us Apart
TCU’s teacher-scholar philosophy means your professors actively immerse themselves in research — often side-by-side with both undergraduate and graduate students. When your teachers are involved scholars themselves, everyone benefits.
Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to deepen your academic experience through active involvement in prestigious organizations like Pi Mu Epsilon (Texas Alpha chapter), a national mathematics honor society, and Gamma Iota Sigma (Gamma Xi chapter), an international professional fraternity organized to promote, encourage and sustain student interest in insurance, risk management and actuarial science as professions.
Career Prospects
TCU graduates minoring in actuarial sciences have gone on to work at major national companies such as Aon, Microsoft and USHEALTH Group.
