To help protect you from the flu, TCU’s Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences will offer free flu shots to faculty and staff Oct 5. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vaccines will be given at the University Recreation Center on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition to getting a flu vaccine, you should take everyday preventive actions such as staying away from sick people and washing your hands frequently to reduce the risk of getting—or spreading—the flu.

Symptoms of the flu may include the following:

  • A 100oF or higher fever or feeling feverish
  • A cough and/or a sore throat
  • A runny or stuffy nose
  • A headache and/or bodyache
  • Chills
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea (most common in children)

The CDC is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and works to control and prevent infectious and chronic diseases and promote good health. For additional information about the flu, speak with your medical professional.
